What is a Cosmo Cricket any way?

It is that time again, when Mystic Paper Design Team captain Sheri passes out the team members kit for the month. It is always a nice surprise to see what lovely items she has selected for our projects. For the June project I received the Cosmo Cricket "Everafter" line,
beautiful colors and the bonus...it's double sided.
Also in my kit were the stickers that go along with the paper
and contrasting ribbon...too fun!
The patterned paper is a bit retro, but not so over the top it couldn't be used for a variety of projects,Heritage, Wedding, Anniversarys, Birthdays...check it out at Mystic and see what ideas you can come up with. I'll post my project as soon as I finish!
You can sneek at peek at Lindsey and Sheri's blogs and see what goodies were in their kits. Yasu is on vacation...luck girl!

Play Day

Last Friday Becky from Whymsical Musings shared a collage sheet on her blog. She hoped we could find a bit of time to create and enjoy, while remembering those we love and those who serve our country. I printed off the collage sheet and on Monday I played all day.
Did I have a million other things to do ...yes.
But it was sooooo nice to just play. And isn't that what ATCs are all about?
Thanks Becky!

Once Upon a Time...

I taught my "Once Upon a Time..." book last night at
Mystic Paper, it ended up being a mini family reunion, birthday party and Heritage Scrapbook class all rolled in to one. My cousins had seen my book at Mystic and wanted to take the class. My Tucson Sister heard about the plans and came up with my niece to take the class too.

Along with lessons on how to use Distress Ink and Glimmer Mist we had cupcakes and hummed "Happy Birthday" to the birthday cousin. We hummed because she wanted to just forget the whole thing!

I got a GORGEOUS!

Jennifer bestowed me with a "gorgeous" when I turned my Design Team projects in to Mystic Paper.
I bet you are wondering what I made using all those Jenni Bowlin Scalloped Note cards...

FLOWERS lots and lots of flowers.

Those scalloped edges were perfect petals.

and a few more flowers .

The large black edged die cut was a great base for a collage. the scalloped note card in this page holds the journaling

I cut out the black vine paper from my kit, layered on the die cut, along with a picture of my great aunt and some ephemera.

the red ribbon in my kit...also flowers
Have you taken a peek at Sheri, Lindsey and Yasu's projects yet? I'm clicking over to their blogs right now to see what wonderful projects they made with their kits.

passing it on

I received this award from a very talented "super woman" Tanya Watts. We live to far away to play together, but have gotten to know each other from our blogs. Tanya faces challenges head on with such a positive attitude.
Thank you Tanya for thinking of me.

“The Renee award was created by Bella and Ces in honour of their friend Renee. In Bella's own words "this is a brand new award and I have the pleasure and honor of spreading the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds it's way to those who are like Renee: the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak, giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…” See Renee's blog: Circling My Head
I'm passing the Renee Award along to three designers.
That way it will leave some artist for them to pass it along to.

Becky is a wonderful designer, her blog is always a fun read. She has shared her great ephemera with me. How can you not pass along an award to some one that shares their toys with you?

Lisa a creative southern gal that designs gorgeous dolls out of the limbs of Palo Verde trees...now that takes talent!

Lindsey who does it all. Have you seen her quilts? Where does she find the time?

Check out their blogs...

MMMmmm Lilac

Close your eyes...can't you just smell the fragrance of these beautiful lilacs? You say you didn't know lilacs grew in Arizona...they do! But not in the "Valley"! My mom brought these down from her garden in Flagstaff. Just thought I would share their beauty, even if you can't enjoy the fragrance.

Mother's Day WEEK

Happy Mother's Day!
No I'm not lost...I have spent the last week in the flower shop designing floral arrangements for the holiday. It's not as crazy as Valentines Day, but it runs a close second. Hope all you Moms had a great day!

PS: Thanks to Suzzee Que on Flickr for the great image I used on my Mother's Day cards.

Playin' with Jenni

I made a quick run to Mystic Paper the other day...good timing, our Design Team kits for May were ready and waiting.

My kit was full of Jenni Bowlin patterned paper, black card stock, red lace and
a package full of Jenni's Scalloped Note Cards.
There are 18 cards in this package...
The question is...can I figure out a way to use all 18 in my May project...or should I save some for later?

I'm on my way now to check on Sheri, Lindsey and Yasu's blogs to see what they are up to.
